Our BIG plan

If you're one of those few people that I always talk with, you'll know that there are just a few things that I constantly have in my mind..

  1. Master degree
  2. Have a normal married couple lives without constant in-law interferences
  3. Doggie

I kinda think I shouldn't do no. 1 as it's not economical for me to leave my job, spend a few tens of thousands of dollars to get Master degree and have no income for several years and then only go back to work after that.

And I also kinda give up on no. 2 because it's just hard to understand what they think and it's also hard for them to understand that we're grown up and don't need to be minded every quarter for 2 months by them, let alone given privacy.

So my last hope is no. 3! Recently, I went to watch Marley & Me with my colleagues and it reminded me again about keeping a dog! I really want to keep one but I have no idea where to put it in my small HDB flat and who is going to take care of it while both of us are out working.

My hubby said that we should only keep a dog when we have a landed property (HAHAH when will that happen?). Anyway, we've been going to a few showflats as well to look for cheap condo. So far, there are a few nice ones but none of them come cheap! Even though it's economic crisis right now, the condo are still selling at about $600-700 psf, whereas my in-laws bought their (now already sold) condo at only $500+ psf during SARS time. Maybe SARS had a worse economic impact on property market than economic crisis? I still can't figure out the logic yet.

Ok I know I've been going quite far away from the doggie point, but trust me IT'S ALL RELATED!

My hubby said we should buy a condo when the market is bad so that we can buy it at cheaper price. And then we should rent either the HDB flat or the condo out so that we can use the rental monies for the mortgage, it's quite a clever idea actually, except that we don't have that kinda cash for condo downpayment now! And then when the market price of both HDB and condo are good, we can sell both and buy a landed property! SOUNDS GOOD.. and then after that I get to keep a dog at home! :D

Babies Everywhere

Recently there's a news that Singapore is short of 6,000 new babies every year to replenish the population naturally. But why am I seeing so many pregnant people and babies everywhere?

For the past 4-5 years, there isn't a single year where none of my friends give birth or got pregnant. Everytime I logged in to Facebook, there's always someone pregnant or just given birth, and a lot of times they are younger than me or same age, and just got married! Maybe it's a custom for people in Indonesia to have baby immediately after they got married, and then wait a few years for the second one.

Most of my close friends who are married are either have kids, just gave birth, or trying for baby! In fact, today I'm going to see one of them whose baby just turned 1 month old.

And recently an ex-colleague just told me that his wife just given birth to a twin baby girls! So nice! Twin bundle of joy at one go!

So if I'm the one making the stats, I think we have enough babies!

PS: Turned out Singapore is actually short of 60,000 babies and not 6,000 babies! Imagine there are 60,000 more babies at IT show.. cramped!!!

Blog Redesign

I was getting really bored with my old blog design, so I decided to give it a bit of face lift. I kinda like how it looks like now but I just feel that it lost a bit of its identity.

Good for me, because I saved the full template, just in case I want to revert it back - occupation hazard (always must have backup before rolling over new code!)

Peeking inside my bag...

To carry all my important cards like ID, credit cards, monies! And also because I think it's quite pretty :D

So that all my friends and family can contact me... doh!

So that my colleagues can contact me? Erm.. I just carry it in case someone from work need to contact me..

So that I can take photos whenever and wherever I want!

Small pouch containings lots of smaller items
To contain the smaller items? Ok basically those are the small stuff that I don't want to be randomly found at the bottom of the bag so I put those in a small pouch, those are stuff like rubber bands to tie hair, hair clips, papers, tissue paper, etc.

House keys
So that I can enter and exit the house easily...

Car keys
So that..... hmm... I dunno why the key is there because I seldom drive the car.. but there just doesn't seem to be a proper place at home to store this key..

Woman emergency stuff
For woman emergency situation

Card holders
To keep all my discount and priviledge cards.. can never have enough of them! Most shops have their own VIP cards, they should all work together and combine effort!

Exploring Singapore - Sentosa

Since my brother can still be counted as tourist, we decided to bring him to Sentosa. We visited the beaches but it was cloudy after a heavy rain, but it's still nice nonetheless.

This is my brother advertising some kind of chips that my sis brought (they were thinking of a picnic maybe?)

Afterwards, we tried Sentosa 4D Magic. It cost 18 bucks per person to sit inside that room with a rocking chair and having water splash to your face. Ok I know 4D animation stuff in general is like that, but the one they have in Sentosa is not very good. The one we watched in Gold Coast is wayyyyy better, at least the movement is more synchronized with the picture and not just some random rocking of the chair.

And then after 4D Magic, we went to watch Song of The Sea. It's supposed to replace Musical Fountain that used to be free, but this one is only 4 bucks and it's quite worth because it has nicer stuff compared to Musical Fountain. They have fireworks and fire in addition to just laser lights and fountain :)

This is us waiting for the show to start :)

And then before we go home, we took more photos...
